Summary

TITAN ON THE HUNT

On the way to Eren’s home， deep in Titan territory， the Survey Corps ranks are broken by a charge led by a female Titan！ But this Abnormal is different – she kills not to eat but to protect herself， and she seems to be looking for someone。 Armin comes to a shocking conclusion: She’s a human in a Titan’s body， just like Eren！

Okay this is probably my favorite volume so far because the female titan is my favorite titan。 She comes into play so chaotically， it was so interesting to see and now read。 We get more of Hanji， Levi， and Erwin in this volume as well。 Besides the female titan， another favorite part was Eren figuring out what exactly helps him transform into his titan form。 Onto volume 7！！

Over the last 5 weeks， I've launched a fresh assault with renewed vigor against the Chinese language。 The idea is to commit to reading one issue of 進擊的巨人 （The Chinese translation of 進擊の巨人， which "Attack on Titan" is the English translation of） per week。 It's an aggressive pace - the first issue of 進擊的巨人 took me a year of on and off reading to read - but with between 6 and 9 hours of guided reading in the presence of a native per week， I've been able to keep the pace up so far。 I'm now on book 8 Over the last 5 weeks， I've launched a fresh assault with renewed vigor against the Chinese language。 The idea is to commit to reading one issue of 進擊的巨人 （The Chinese translation of 進擊の巨人， which "Attack on Titan" is the English translation of） per week。 It's an aggressive pace - the first issue of 進擊的巨人 took me a year of on and off reading to read - but with between 6 and 9 hours of guided reading in the presence of a native per week， I've been able to keep the pace up so far。 I'm now on book 8 which - once finished - will mean I have to the end of the equivalent of Season 1 of the anime （4 seasons total）。To help me stay motivated， I've made a promise to myself。 Attack on Titan is actually almost over - only the February， March， and April issues remain。 I have decided that （even though the February edition is already out） I will deny myself the right to read the remaining issues in English。 If I want to find out how the story ends， the only way is by first catching up in the Chinese edition of the manga to where I currently am in the English edition （which I've been following since the days of my PhD）， and only then going on to read the ending， in Chinese。I have of course already made my predictions of how the story will end， and hid them inside an email account the password of which I have split into three pieces - keeping one for myself and giving the two others to two friends - but also having given the password in its entirety to Cameron， in case all of us forget。 So far I have bought issues 1-32 of 進擊的巨人， which is all the issues that have been published so far。 As issue 32 is almost caught up to where the story is online， I estimate that there will be 33 or 34 issues in total。So， another 27 weeks to go。 。。。more
